Our adorable grandson Pace Daniel was born Tuesday the 15th. Already he is joked to be an early favorite because of the use of my maiden name Pace. He is just precious and we are so excited to have him in our family.
Due to flu sesson, the kids were not allowed in the hospital but you could tell by their sweet faces that they were excited to have a little brother. My friend Maria Nissen took our family pictures this year and they turned out great!
We had such a fun party this year that was packed full with different Halloween activities. We started off with face painting. Then we ate a delicious spooky dinner which followed with witches brew. We had our traditional costume parade. We then shared a spooky story where the kids had to touch a scary item. Next was mummy wrapping, then the ghost drop, pumpkin bowling and finally a spooky craft. It was quit a night!
After four weeks of waiting, last Thursday, October 1, our anticipated letter from 50 E. North Temple St. arrived in the mail. To keep myself sane, I spent the afternoon making food for the family gathering. By 7:00 with nearly the whole family together, I asked for guesses to be made of our assignment.
Then David opened the envelope and I was so relieved to hear: "Concepcion Chile Mission with the primary responsibility to be office specialists."
On September 10th Mark finished his five month program and graduated with "honors." Grandma, Uncle Rod and Rae Ann, Tiffany, Courtney and Jaron joined with Dad and I at Renaissance Ranch in south part of Salt Lake City. The precelebration was at Cafe Rio. The post celebration was at Mark's, Jaron and Courtney participating. There were many wonderful comments made about Mark from about 20 people.
Dave and I have been married forty wonderful years. We have nine children; seven are married to great spouses. At last count we have 20 grandchildren. I spend most my time with my family, especially taking care of David,(dinner is still prompt at 6:00pm). Also I do church work, take classes at Mesa Community College. I enjoy taking pictures, gardening, traveling and watching an occasional 24 episode or a series like The Winds of War from Netflix. It seems like I'm always on the computer. Dave and I have been called to serve as missionaries in the Chile Concepcion Mission starting January 11, 2010.
